Privacy policy
Effective 7 November 2026
Breathland is a breathing app for iPhone and Android. It is made by Renaissance Systems, the trading name of Varun Veerbhadra (“we”, “us”). This policy says what we keep about you, why, who else handles it, and what you can do about it. Questions: hello@accustom.app.
The short version
- You sign in with Apple or Google. Your progress, preferences and breathing sessions are kept with your account on our server (Google's Cloud Firestore), so they follow you to any phone and open new lands as you breathe.
- No ads, no analytics in the app, no tracking, and we never sell your information.
- Reminders are set on your phone. Nothing about them reaches us.
- You can export your data, or delete your account and all of it, in the app at any time.
What we keep, and why
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your account: a user ID, your email address (or the private relay address Apple gives us if you choose Hide My Email), and whether you signed in with Apple or Google. Kept by Google's Firebase Authentication. If you sign in with Google, Google also gives Firebase your name and photo; we never copy, use or show them. | So the app knows it is you, on any phone. | Until you delete your account. |
| Your progress: ridges walked, minutes breathed, your streak, and the land and pattern you chose. | To open new lands as you breathe, and to show your progress on any phone you sign in on. | Until you delete your account. |
| Your preferences: sound (music, breath chimes, ambience and volume), haptics, session length and countdown, and your reminder time. | So the app works the way you set it, on any phone. | Until you delete your account. |
| Your session history: for each session, the date, land, pattern, length, number of breaths, and how closely you kept in step (your in-step %). | For your streak and progress, and to keep them in step across your phones. | Until you delete it (how) or your account. |
| Your subscription: RevenueCat keeps your user ID and your purchase history from the App Store or Google Play (what you bought, when, its price and currency, and the store's receipt). | To check that your subscription is active, on any phone. Apple or Google handle payment; we never see your card. | Until you delete your account, when it is removed from RevenueCat. Apple and Google keep their own records. |
| Your internet address, which Google's servers see when the app connects. | To deliver the service and keep it secure. We don't store it with your data. | Only in Google's request logs for our project, for about 30 days. |
The app also keeps a copy of your progress, preferences and history on your phone, so it works without a connection. With Sync off (Preferences, Account & privacy, Sync), new changes stay on that phone until you turn it back on.
Reminders are local notifications, scheduled by your phone. The only code we run on a server (Google Cloud Functions) is what deletes your account.
What we don't do
- No advertising, advertising IDs or ad networks.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs in the app, and no data brokers.
- We never sell, rent or share your information for advertising, and never use it to train AI.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
This website
breathland.renaiss.cc is served by Cloudflare. Like any web server, it sees your internet address and browser when you visit. It counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not follow you across other sites. The site sets no cookies of its own.
Who else handles it
| Company | What for | What they get |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions), United States | Sign-in; keeping your progress, preferences and session history; deleting your account. | Your account details, and the progress, preferences and session history above. |
| RevenueCat, United States | Checking your subscription. | Your user ID and your purchase history from the stores. |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple; selling the subscription in the App Store. | What its sign-in and store collect, under Apple's own policies. |
| Google Play | Selling the subscription on Android. | What its store collects, under Google's own policies. |
| Cloudflare, United States | Serving this website and counting its visits. | Your internet address and browser details when you visit the site. Nothing from the app. |
These companies act for us under contracts that limit what they may do with it. If you live outside the United States, information they handle may be processed there; for the EU, UK and Switzerland we rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and their UK and Swiss equivalents.
Why we may use it
We keep your account, progress, preferences and session history to give you the service you asked for: signing you in, syncing your progress and opening new lands. Your subscription is checked for the same reason. We use your session history for nothing else.
Your choices and rights
- See or export it: Preferences, Account & privacy, Export my data.
- Change it: your preferences are in Preferences. For anything else, write to us.
- Keep changes on one phone: Preferences, Account & privacy, Sync off.
- Delete everything: Preferences, Account & privacy, Delete account and all data. See delete your account.
- Delete some of it, such as your session history: write to us (how).
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, California, Washington and other US states), you have rights to access, correct, delete and port your information, to object to how we use it, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to hello@accustom.app and we will answer within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for using them. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information. Our consumer health data notice has more for US states with health data laws.
Children
Breathland is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
Everything travels over encrypted connections. Google encrypts your data where it is stored, and Firestore's access rules let only your own signed-in account read or write it. No method is perfect, but we keep only what the app needs to work.
Requests from authorities
We would only ever disclose the information above where the law requires it, and we would tell you unless prohibited.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for meaningful changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.
